DERBY BRANCH
The Derby Branch has been in existence for over 45 years and operates to support the Peak Railway Association and the Peak Rail PLC .
Currently the Branch members are involved in basically two functions - Fund Raising for projects either taken on by the Branch members or sponsoring bigger tasks on the Railway. With the limited number of volunteers and their ages in the Branch team we undertake light maintenance work - painting platform shelters ,creosoting fences being good examples. In recent years our fund raising efforts have been limited to attending local carnivals which provides funds for materials we need .
Unfortunately after 40 plus years the Branch Social Evenings at the "Alexandra Hotel" in Derby have not been organised since November 2022 , Nigel Carabine stood down as organiser after over 30 years and to date nobody has come forward to restart the Socials.
We are always looking for more help either fund raising or maintenance projects , if anyone would like hear more about our work please give Nigel a call.
